What the Job Involves
More Than an Outlet, and That's the Point
A hot tub circuit is a dedicated 50-or-60-amp, 220-volt run with its own disconnect within sight of the water, plus GFCI protection. Getting each piece right is what keeps the install safe, the warranty valid, and the inspector satisfied.

The outdoor spa panel your tub's manual requires, mounted where code puts it, so anyone can cut power fast.

What Buyers Ask Before Delivery Day
The dealer said "you just need an electrician." What does that mean?
A dedicated 220-volt circuit, an outdoor disconnect (spa panel) within sight of the tub, and GFCI protection, sized to your specific model. Send us the model and we'll translate the manual into a quote.
Can I plug a hot tub into a regular outlet?
Some plug-and-play tubs run on a standard 120-volt GFCI outlet at reduced heating speed. Most full-size tubs need the 220-volt circuit. If you're deciding between models, call. The wiring cost difference is worth knowing before you buy.
How far ahead should I schedule?
Call when you order the tub. Most hookups schedule within 1 to 2 weeks, and wiring it before delivery means you're soaking the week the tub arrives instead of staring at a cold shell.
What about pools?
Pumps, heaters, salt systems, lighting, and bonding: pool equipment wiring is its own discipline with its own code chapter, and we do it. Same process: photos and an equipment list first, written quote before work.
Will this need a permit?
Frequently yes. New outdoor circuits are permitted, inspected work in much of our service area. We handle the paperwork where it's required and build the inspection into the schedule, so it's not your problem.
